Yamasaka

I went camping this weekend!

I haven't been camping in almost 5 years and even then it doesn't count because it was a trip I took while I was at sleep-over camp.

I went with 3 friends and we had such a great time. We spent the whole time cooking, eating, and drinking. The food we made was some of the best tasting food I have ever had. Shish kabobs the first night, LOTS of eggs for breakfast the next morning and so much more food.

Me preparing the candied apple croissant pastry thingy

There's just something special about cooking your food a top a fire. It gives it a flavour that you can't replicate anywhere else. I can't wait till I can go camping again. Maybe next time we'll bring some horses along for the ride.

Papa Roach

Woke up this morning and had an urge to listen to some Papa Roach. I don't know why, I haven't listened to any Papa Roach songs in months. But it was totally worth it. I started off with "Scars" and it was all uphill from there.

Yesterday I met up with my friend S and we walked around downtown. I unfortunately wore my highest wedges. I thought we were going to go to Beerfest but ended up going redecorating shopping. S is redoing her room. I'm excited to see the final outcome of her room, it's going to look gorgeous.  And of course we did some good old clothes shopping too. (I ended up only getting the purple clutch out of the items in this photo) If I go back might have to buy those shoes though, they were so adorable.

And then we took some outfit photos. :D

And this one just for good measure so you can see how ridiculous I am.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

The Old Man is Snoring

It's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring. I always loved that rhyme when I was younger and would always sing it when it rained. And it's raining now, so of course I'm singing it to myself. I didn't think I would be happy about the rain but I am. It was so humid today that I sent the day in next to nothing.

I realize also it's been a while since I posted last. This past week has been fast and fun filled. My friends from Toronto came to visit for the weekend. We had amazing chill times. But now they are gone. I haven't really been taking many photos, but I plan on doing that soon. I'm even thinking about re-doing my etsy shop pictures, I want to try to create a story about the clothes.

But I do have a photo shoot of Tilly

En français s.v.p.

Yesterday I spent the day reading in the park before I had to go babysit. It was so lovely sitting in the shade. Mostly because it was way too hot to sit in the sun and I'm not that big of a fan of tanning. Especially tanning without sunscreen. Skin cancer, no thank you.
I wanted to give you a close up look of my romper. I love the pattern on it. I think leaves are an excellent alternative to floral print for a lovely spring look.

Romper: Thrifted (Value Village)
Shoes: Thrifted (Value Village)
Purse: Estate Sale
Necklace: Lune Vintage

Also I started my French lessons today. I'm taking a level 2 beginners class. I took French till grade 10, but it's been a while since then... So refresher course yay!!

Chicken and Tilly

Are my two cats.
Chicken is the newest addition to our family. We got her about two months ago. She's a grey calico and is the cutest thing I think I have ever met. When she wants to be pet so rolls over onto her side and hugs your arm. I die a little inside from cuteness each time. Unfortunately Chicken hates, I mean seriously hates, being picked up.
Tilly is a fat, black cat. She is the sassy black lady of the house. Also one of the cutest cats I've seen. (Can you tell I'm a little biased) She barely likes being pet, just likes to sit beside you. (that's what she's doing right now) When she roll over onto her belly and you start to pet her, she'll nip you. The only plus is that she lets you pick her up, though it's almost like lifting weights when you do. And before anyone freaks out about her weight she is on a diet but somehow still won't loose the weight.

There are two problems when it comes to these cats. One is that Chicken is free fed, while Tilly has her 3/4 cup of food a day max. So that means when Chicken wants to eat we have to lock her in a room so Tilly doesn't get to the food. Which is frustrating for my roommate because it's her room that Chicken lives in basically all day.

Second problem is that Tilly seems to hate Chicken. There was a few days where it seemed like, yah they could totally tolerate each other. But those days are long gone, well not that long gone. So somehow we have to make Tilly feel loved, even if she doesn't like to be loved all the time, and hopefully convince her to at least tolerate Chicken. While also making Chicken feel comfortable around us and Tilly. Because we want a happy family. Now is that so much to ask?

(Sorry for the long rant)

Another Day, Another Post

Yesterday I finally got myself up to go to Value Village. I must say I do love that place. What I don't love is that there are only TWO in the whole city and both are half an hour away from me. But I digress. I got some pretty wicked things.

These awesome shoes that I'm going to wear to Red Hot & Blue* in September!

This crop top, probably also wear to Red Hot & Blue

A Hawaiian dress cause I mean how could I pass this up.

And this RoughRider jacket, also another option for Red Hot & Blue

* Red Hot & Blue is a Rockabilly Weekend shin-ding that's happening in Montreal in September.
If you're into that thing it's definitely worth checking out http://www.rockabillyjam.com/
